Our Sincere Thanks

As we head into the first day of shooting tomorrow, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported us and our Sly Sylvester film. Tomorrow will only be the halfway point for us, as our next two weeks will be filled with editing and sound design, but getting to this point absolutely feels like an achievement. Our friends, family, cast and crew members and even some we have never personally met who have donated to our Kickstarter project, are responsible for us getting here.

Those who have donated to our Kickstarter project are helping cover both large items, such as the rental of film and sound equipment, and smaller things, like the temporary hooks we picked up to hang artwork for our set design so that we don’t damage the apartment walls.

As of this morning, we’re a little over halfway of reaching our Fundraising goal. As you know, if we don’t reach our goal by Wednesday, October 12, we won’t receive the funds, so it’s difficult to explain the extent of how much we appreciate your generosity.

Thank you!

Best regards,

Kim & April

Costume Design!

This week I went shopping for the perfect shirt for MR. GROMMEL.

Which one do you think looks the crustiest?

Getting Organized

With only a couple days until we start shooting, our director April sits down for a conference call with our director of photograph, Thomas Broening, and our sound mixer, Ross Hopeman, to go over organization plans for Saturday.

First night of rehearsals

With a week to go until shooting, we invited our actors together for our first night of rehearsals. We have three rehearsals scheduled throughout the week so that we’re all ready to go this weekend.

We spent the first half hour of the evening sharing Fat Tire’s and dinner and then got to work. In attendance was director April Abeyta, writer/producer Kim Nunley, associate producer Melissa Hueman, and actors Richard Turgeon, Tiffany Gustafson and Jay Krohnengold.

To sit in a room and watch actors read the lines you’ve written is a surreal experience.
